Introduction
A Fable is a short story built up to give a moral lesson to others. Characters of the fables are animals. These are based on natural elements. It depicts a problem and a resolution. There are so many fablesthat are used among Sinhala rural community. When someone talk with others sometime they use main character of a fable to explain it clearly. As examples, “it is like rabbit and tortoise”, “it is like crow and piece of flesh”, so on.
